Year 30: The End

Well here we are at the end of year 30. It’s strange because it certainly doesn’t feel like a year has past. I have to admit that this has probably been the best year in my adult life. Here is a rundown of some of the things that made this year so great.

Let me start by saying that I am so thankful for Jenn and the girls, this year was so great for me and they were a huge part of it. Jenn is my rock and I love her so completely and more importantly she loves me. She stuck by me when I had nothing and she understood how frustrated I was so supportive. Allie and Abbie have been nothing but total joy to watch grow up. Over the past year they have both gotten so big and smart that at times I forget how young they are. Allie starts kindergarten in August and that is astounding I remember holding her in the palm of my hand. Abbie has turned into a little person, she’s funny and a little mean. I’ve never met a 2 year who understood sarcasm before.

I finally got a job that I love and is really fulfilling. It’s not where I ultimately want to be but it’s a great place to start. Things there are not always perfect but the people on my shift are top notch.

I started smoking. I KNOW! I had a really terrible night at work and was stressed to the point where I will usually just have a drink but they won’t let us drink at work so I bought my first pack of cigarettes. I wish that I could say that it was only the one pack but it wasn’t. The fact that I started smoking at 30 never escaped my attention.

I quit smoking. Not as soon as I should have but it needed to happen.

One of the good things about the job is the friends that I have made. They are some of the most loyal guys that I have ever known. Speaking of my friends most of them have had a good year over the past 12 months. Several have had kids, some are getting married. The only bad thing on the friend front is that one of them has moved away, don’t get me wrong I’m proud of him for finally finding something that he is happy doing but Justin I miss you terribly.

I’m sure that there was plenty of other things that happened but instead of me typing it all out I invite you to go and read through the blogs. I have really enjoyed blogging everyday but I am going to take a break from it for a little while and start up something new. Thanks for reading. Thanks for the great year. I hope that everyone enjoyed the blog. Goodnight. S.

Year 30 Day 362

I think this chest thing may kill me. Dead. S.

Year 30 Day 361

Today began and ended in a dentist office so not a banner day as far as I go. I still have an abscessed tooth and terrible chest congestion. Did I mention that I also have to work tonight? Not a very happy lead in to my birthday. S.

Year 30 Day 360

I am going to go to the dentist tomorrow. FML. S

Year 30 Day 359

Finally my work weekend is over. I am both sock and exhausted. Meds are in and to bed I go. S.

Year 30 Day 358

You ever go to bed knowing that tomorrow is going to be one of those days? That’s where I am right now. I know that when I go to work tomorrow it will not be fun and may even be worse than simply not fun it has the potential to be quite dreadful. Oh well someone has to babysit. S.

Year 30 Day 357

I had a good night at work. We had a lot of laughs. I am so glad to finally be in a place where I have a good time at work. Don’t get me wrong I had a lot of good times at the theatre but the work part of it became such a grind that at times it would out weigh the fun. I am fixing to shower then go to bed and do it all again tonight. S.

Year 30 Day 356

By comparison of how today started it ended in a whimper. No more silliness happened but still a fun day. S.

Year 30 Day 355

I had quite the adventure today and all after I worked 12 hours. A guy I work with was telling me how he got his truck stuck while on his way to work and since my jeep is so bad ass I offered to take him home and pull his truck free. That is something that I should have no problem doing. We get out there and are driving up to his truck when he says “there’s a hole over there.” At that point I hit a hole and say “I got it”. Then I hit the hole he was apparently warning me about and the driver’s side of my Jeep completely bottoms out. We then began calling everyone we knew with a truck trying to find someone to pull my Jeep out so that we can then pull his truck out and I finally remembered that Don has a dually and he could very easily do it. Here’s the time table for out little adventure.

0745 Leave Lowndes Co. Jail

0820 Jeep falls into the casym

1030 Don pulls me free

1210 I write this blog.

I am tired to say the least but I have had quite the fun time. I hope you enjoy the pictures. S.

Year 30 Day 354

First day back at work was busy. Now to go to sleep and get up to do it all again. S.
